Hello! I haven't been in here for a long time now.
Sorry for the impromptu hiatus for the last few years. I tried to get back to posting online during those years, but I couldn't do it because of university and health. Sitting for long hours for classes and doing homework made my back pain worse. I instead focused on taking care of myself and doing my assignments to graduate fast.
I graduated in the summer of 2019 and went into looking for jobs directly after my graduation. My lack of experiences and rejections made me go into freelancing. It worked well until the pandemic happened in early 2020.
The lack of job postings in freelancing was slowly diminishing. Most were looking for logos that were out of my expertise. I went into dormant again.
But I get into fandom and can kick myself to post online again.
I was reading through Outlast fanfics in the mid-2020 and found a particular fanfic that I love. I asked for their permission to draw their fanfic for my comic practice, and they said yes. I was posting it on my AO3 account for a few chapters.
When I was doing it, a friend in the Toram Online game discord server told me about Mohammed Agbadi's discord server. They convinced me about how friendly and helpful the server was.
I was worried about sharing my works with strangers by then because of my inactivity on the internet. I heard about critics people had with my current OTP. But, I needed to be brave if I wanted to go into the art industry, so I went to show them the comic's WIP pages.
My worries were false.
The server was friendly and helpful; they helped me a lot with my works and encouraged me to go back to social media. With the encouragement from them and the Outlast AO3 community, I finally gathered my wits to create a new Twitter account in September 2020. Now, I'm active there, posting my works between a few days.
I was away too long from social media that I didn't know what happened to Tumblr and Deviantart. Because of Tumblr's purge and my guilt with Deviantart, I decide to focus on Twitter for now. I know Instagram is better than Twitter for art, but the algorithm is weird, and my families have lots of accounts there that I have no idea which one is which. So, Twitter is better for me, so I can post whatever I want without arguing with my family.
About the guilt that I mention in the paragraph above... You see...π π
I decide not to finish Volkstrauertag.
The reason isn't because of laziness or anything like that. I was having a mental breakdown of drawing a whole chapter again.
In late 2017 or early 2018, I made a mistake and lost all my data when updating my laptop's memory space, including my university assignments and the whole chapter 5. I almost hyperventilated, but my mom was thankfully able to calm me down through phone calls. I couldn't recover the data myself, so I paid a professional to rescue my data instead. He could save most of them, except for the comic and some files since his software didn't support Clip Studio Paint and SAI file extension.
I thought it wasn't a big issue until I try to redraw them again. I was on page 7 when I had a realization. I counted how many hours I needed to complete it, how many times I stop to rest for my back, and so on. I had a mental breakdown after that.
Because of that, I decide not to continue it for the sake of my mental health...
Sorry for the disappointment, guys. π
I understand if you lost interest in my works, but if you're still interested, my commonly used username is now Cieltic. I decide not to go by Kalafin99 anymore to start anew.
Here is the link to my Twitter.
Thank you guys for your understanding.
How long have you been on DeviantArt?
Almost 5 years now on my page, but I were only active around 3 years ago.
What does your username mean?
Nothing, it's just derived from Kalafina and 99 from my month of Birthday.
Describe yourself in three words.
Clumsy naive girl (people are calling me too innocent and trusting for my own good. I don't know why.)
Are you left or right handed?
Right-handed.
What was your first deviation?
What is your favourite type of art to create?
Semi-realism, and sometimes manga style.
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
Realism
What was your first favourite?
I don't remember it anymore...
What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
According to my favourite, it's either manga, semi-realism, or realism. But I think it's semi-realism.
Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
Anybody will be fine, but I would like to meet my friends.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
Yes. xiaoyugaara, mieulinhtu, and Hiaennyddei helps me a lot.
What are your preferred tools to create art?
For digital, I use Wacom Intuos 4 wireless with softwares of SAI, Photoshop CC, and CSP. I try to use Medibang, and it's lovely too.
For traditional, I prefer to use only papers, pencils, and pens. Watercolors seem nice, but my hands can't be steady.
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
Everywhere, especially when I'm in trips. For example, I got Judgement's idea when I was in car a year ago.
...I don't know. I'll come edit this later if I can think any of them again.
A fact from my Grandma; she was a gamer.
